We are no longer offering future CPD courses as SREC has a new education provider. If you are looking to take the 2018/2019 CPD course, it will become available at a later date through the new provider. Please contact SREC if you have any questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

The following is a list of answers to some of the frequently asked questions by students. These are remedies to issues commonly encountered by users of CPD online. Please keep in mind that the Association can help with content questions and some easy fixes but technical questions are best dealt with by submitting a support request to ProTraining.

Support requests are dealt with in the order they are received. It is best to submit the support request as soon as possible so that you get in the queue to be helped. Submitting request for technical support becomes increasingly more important as we get closer to the May 30th deadline.

What happens if I forget my username or password?

If you cannot remember your login information, click HERE and we will send that information to you to the email address you signed up with.

My screen froze and I cannot move forward.

If the screen is frozen or you have waited a long time for something to happen then it is recommended that you try to close out of the course and try to log back in. You can either just log out of the course and close and re-open the web browser and log back in to your course. But to be more effective after closing the web browser and any programs you might have open reboot the computer.

Warning: if you close the Unit you are working on before you finish the slide you are in you will lose the progress made on that particular slide. Better to finish a slide and move on to the next slide before closing out of the Unit.

There is a problem that affects less than 10% of registrants. The problem is that some are having issues with progress recording. More specifically the student/registrant works through several slides in Unit 1 and then has to leave the course. When you return your progress has not been tracked and you have to start over at the beginning. Testing to resolve the problem is ongoing but as yet is unresolved (as of May 8/2013). Therefore ASR is advising any one who encounters this problem to complete the whole of Unit 1 in one sitting. So far once past Unit 1 the troubles end. Unit 1 is 64 slides long and can take up to two hours to complete.

Are you connected by a wireless connection?

The preferred connection is via a cable connection. A wired connection is highly recommended because any loss of connection from the server will result in loss of work due to the system no longer being connected and tracked. This is happening more often due to more people connecting via wireless and there is competition for the limited amount of wifi signal available.

Are you in an urban or rural area? How good is the internet signal?

Again, weak connection can lead to loss of progress tracking your work.

How old is your equipment? Have you updated your web browser?

The requirements for equipment are on the asreducation.com support tab.

Do you have a new virus protection? New or not, what kind of virus protection or firewall are you using?

Some virus protections or firewalls prevent the system from operating properly. This is typically the kind of problem the tech support of Protraining can deal with.

Are you following the correct steps to login to asreducation.com?

You must login using the authentication process or your progress will not be tracked and your completion of the course will not be reported to the SREC.

Does your site keep track of my progress?

Yes. Our site keeps track of every program and exam you take.

There is no need to save anything regarding your progress through the course. Your progress is automatically tracked and the progress tab in the upper left corner shows in green all completed slides. The last green slide indicates the current slide in progress. Once a student completes the slides in a Unit you can close the window if the window doesn’t close automatically. It is a good practice to periodically check the progress tab and before closing the window. Also be sure the system has a moment to mark you as complete before you close the window and you move on.

Before calling for help please confirm that there aren’t any buttons or clickable graphics or tabs that you haven’t opened yet. Every tab, button or clickable graphic must be either clicked on or hovered over (sometimes dragged) before the slide can be finished and you can proceed.

The following is a link to a YouTube video that can help in some cases. If your progress isn't being tracked one possible problem is that your 'cookies' are set to off or your security is set too high. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVt2xlvZMPo

Can I pause my program, and come back to it later?

Yes. A program can be paused at any time for later use. When you are ready to continue your program, simply go into exam history, select your paused program, and continue on.

How do I get help?

You can obtain technical help by using the support link on the menu, and sending a support request.
